83K miles
Very low miles for a Saab this old... Well maintained you could get double that and more.... Good Saab indy shop / DIY should be enough...!
Wiper....
Are you talking about the wiper blade?
What's a good resource for tackling the foggy headlights?
Do you know how to change the bulbs? If so you could use a long hanger wire (bend the end into a u shape (use a pair of pliers) and wrap U shape with small piece of bounty, blue shop towels or old clean t-shirt and fasten with rubber band). Soak the wrapped material in quality window cleaner... I used blue shop towels from most auto stores (Pepboys, Autozone etc) and professional window cleaner also from Pepboys. I maneuvered the new tool through the hole where the bulb goes and gently wiped the entire inside of each headlight lens. I did this a couple years ago and they are still sparkling clean to this day. The other alternative is to take the lens out and pour a little rubbing alcohol in and swill around and leave to evaporate. Good luck!
The passenger side cooling fan may not be working or may be slow....any ideas?
This is the AirCon fan and comes on when you engage the AirCon. There is another test, but difficult to explain, especially if you're not a DIY type.
Not last, but probably least, the trim on the drivers side door is somewhere on I95 in Florida. I think the heat melted the glue loose - anyway, should I go ahead a buy a new one for an old car or scout out an old one somewhere?
Check ebay search for "Saab SPG". The sellers are trying to sell many parts for Saabs and if you contact them. They might be able to sell you the part... Of course the difficult thing is to find the colour you need. Also junk yards are a good resource for many parts if you can get soemone to remove the part.
Is it time to learn car repair or sell my beloved??
This car has low miles and if you find an indy Saab mechanic, then you'll be in good shape for many thousands of miles.
Good luck!
Hugh
