When I hit the brakes my defroster randomly comes on -- though it rarely happens now that I've pulled the defroster switch. It was so bad that I couldn't even turn off the defroster after the brakes turned it on and i later learned that when I would try to turn off the defroster it would make my rear brakelights basically not work. It get's weirder.

So I pulled the switch and thought problem solved. But now I seem to have a basic bad ground perhaps? The rear brakelights stop working at times, after I've opened the rear hatch. When it happens I slam the rear hatch a few times until they start working again (bad ground?). Does this second problem sound like it could be connected to the first problem I had (with the brake/defroster?). FYI - my solenoid clatters like a mother and always has for several years now. Mechanics have tried swapping out just about everything and nothing but disconnecting the APC will fix it.
