You just have to start looking at all of your vacuum hoses. Check first if you hear air rushing from the driver's position by removing the speaker grille from the top of the dash. See if your turbo gauge vacuum line at the back of the instrument cluster is disconnected. From there it goes down to a "T" where it also goes to the cruise control vacuum pod.
I lost boost last summer in my '87 convertible and had no reading on the gauge. It turned out the electrical connector on the bottom of my APC box had just vibrated loose. You might want to check that just on principle. That box is inside your left front fender just forward of the wheel well.
Also I'm sure others with more experience will lend better advice than me but hopefully this can get you started.
