I have been getting a rumbling/vibration noise from my pass side wheel/drive train area.Noise occurs in and out of gear and does not change when I turn the steering. It "seemed" to start(the noise) after I hit a pot hole at about 15miles an hour). I start noticeing the sound right around 30-35 miles an hour and it gets progressively worse as I increase speed. So I began to take the wheel/hub off and check out my wheel bearing and drive axle. Upon wheel removal, I notice that my drive axle nut was not very tight. I am guessing about forty to fifty pounds of torque. Book says to torque to 214-229ft-lbs. Like a dummie, I continued to keep working and taking the drive axle out. As an afterthought, I should have just retorqued to specifications and taken a test drive....but I didn't. Wheel bearings check out fine, cv boots fine and clean grease. My question. Could a loose drive axle nut(not properly torqued to specs) cause this rumbling noise??
