I don't recall the fuel pump nor do I have it listed in my files??? Did I maybe take a screen shot of the amp draw/commutator and saw the amp curve being bad?
The AMM I listed as "possibly bad" since I seem to remember we were fighting a cold start problem and did a whole bunch of cleaning and adjustments connected to that.

If the cars starts good now and pass smog you don't need an AMM right now?

As for the ticking, I would start taking the valve cover off and replace the plastic oil supply nipples for lifters and camshaft lubrication. Who knows, that might be enough and I did comment that the VC gasket needed replacement.

Remove the A/C belt, maybe it is only the A/C idler pulley growling???

Ignition module just goes and goes until it dies instantly.

Very rarely does the head light relay die on those cars, find a used one for free.

Whatever car you buy it will have the capabilities to die instantly anywhere. The good part with a brand new car is that you have the free towing and repair when it happens.
