heater hose source needed (8 valve) Posted by Saana88 [Email] (#207) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Saana88) on Sun, 9 Jan 2005 18:37:01 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I'm trying to replace all the cooling system (heater/radiator/expansion tank/waterpump etc.) hoses- the heater hoses are original, and that means they're 17 years old and starting to swell up around the joints. Plus I'll have the coolant drained to change the water pump and heater core and CI thermoswitch and washer fluid heater at the same time.
Problem- Eeuros doesn't sell 8-valve specific heater hoses. The ones for the 16er are similar except for one, which runs from the upper heater valve outlet to the middle o' the head. 16 valve uses a teed-head and throttle valve setup. Where do I get the right part?
Other hoses- please tell me if these are different for 16 valve because I don't think they are:
Heater valve to water pump
Expansion tank to water pump
Expansion tank to radiator (teeny)
Lower radiator hose to water pump
Looks like the washer fluid heater is a winner- they've superceded the 900 part number with something that's the same except for transverse-engine instructions at a new, higher price point. 900 installation is simpler because the part fits in the upper rad hose where the AC cut-out thermoswitch currently is, and I've happily ripped out my air con. No radiator hose cutting necessary.
TIA- looking forward to spending 6-8 coolant-soaked knuckle-scraping hours in, under, over, and around my classic. Now for the 16 valve questions....
