Recurring Problem with Oil Pressure Relief Valve

The car is a 1986 900 turbo automatic with 215,000 miles on it. I recently had a post titled "Don't try this at home" wherein my son drove several miles with the relief valve stuck open resulting in no oil pressure. I removed the valve and it had a piece of debris on it. I reassembled and all seemed well for about 50 miles. The oil light is back on again and I am betting that the valve is stuck again. This will be the 4th occurrence. I have replaced the valve and spring and the oil pump. (The oil pump had a chunk out of it.) Either the debris from the pump has never cleared the system or something else is producing debris. The oil and filter are changed religiously and this car runs excellent otherwise. I am considering removing the spring and putting in a rod so the valve can't open or get stuck. I realize I am bypassing a safety device for overpressure but this problem has made this car very unreliable. AAA is getting tired of my calls. Anyone ever deal with this issue or have suggestions for a remedy. Thanks
