I'm going to install a Crimestopper Keyless entry system in my car. I've read the procedure on http://www.twinsaabs.com, and have read several posts about the procedure here. The standard method replaces the switch in the driver's door with a passenger-door motor.

Problem with this method is that the only way to lock/unlock the whole car is with the remote (or a user-installed interior switch). I want to preserve the existing function of the driver's door as a control.

Has anyone disassembled the switch unit and/or the motor unit? I know that they're the same externally, and I'm wondering if there might be a way to combine the internals to make a unit that's both a switch and a motor. Seems like it should be do-able, especially if it really is the same case, with different internals. Just wondering if anyone might have already tried this.
