I've had a good experience replacing an aging leaky rack with a used one. Original was 82T. Previous owner was seriously negligent about maintenance issues, so I wasn't surprised that the rack was dying when I bought the car. I replaced it with a used 90 rack. I was fortunate that the wrecked (rear body damage) donor car already had the engine removed and the engine compartment, including the rack, was clean and dry. When installed, the rack worked fine without leaks. I used new fluid and flushed it twice (fill PS fluid tank, drive, drain, refill). I've since upgraded the engine to 16V, which includes the 16V version PS pump, so there was another flushing at that time. So far so good. Flushing and replacing as much of the old fluid with new is a very good idea. Regular fluid replacement is a good idea as well.
