That's not right. It might want to be a few RPMs high but not that high. The LH 2.4 fuel injection system doesn't need to rev it like carburator systems needed a high idle prior to being warmed up.
My '89 SPG did something like that before I was able to track all of the vacuum leaks down. You may also want to check the resistance on the NTC sensor. Those resistance values should be.
32F.....5800 Ohms
68F(about 20C)......2600 Ohms
176F......320 Ohms
It's also possible that the Air Mass Meter is bad, but check the cheap things first.
What does it idle at when it's warm?
