RE: Low rpm hesitation Posted by Michael [Email] ![]() ![]() |
Recently bought a '93 900S, 5sp, w/140k. It has a low rpm hesitation when taking off or shifting gears after it warms up. Does not hesitate when cold. It had a new fuel pump and filter just before I got it, plugs, cap and rotor new, oxygen sensor new, vacuum lines all replaced or good, compression good, and timing looks ok at 14 degrees BTDC (but does fluctuate a little with light on it.) Have cleaned contacts to AMM and throttle sensor. I have not been able to get rid of hesitation once warm. It is fairly consistent but will disappear for brief periods. In reading the BB about the timing sensor under crank pulley I was wondering if a very leaky front main seal would affect the sensor and thus cause timing fluctuations that might cause something like this hesitation? Any other ideas or suggestions to check would be greatly appreciated. I have run out of ideas within my limited range of experience. Thanks.
