No, you do see the obvious. It's a pain to do it on the 84 and older turbos.
I always manage to loosen the big (32 or 36mm I think) flangenut on the pipe going into the engine but I do have a special crowfoot socket that fits into through/under exhaust manifold with an extension.
Don't know what I would do if I didn't have that but I would most likely find a way. Lots of tools are golden when working on cars.
Maybe if you find a cresent wrench with really big jaws and cut of the shaft a little to make it fit?
Yeah I think that one of the bolts for turbo return pipe can only be accessed when the turbo is loose.
Maybe if you start with removing the bracket support for turbo you can get access to that other bolt.
Is it stick shift? Then the transfiller tube needs to be removed to get the starter out.
And if it is auto the transfiller tube should be removed to give better access to the two bolts holding the starter to bell housing.
