Yes - it's possible..... Sorta similar: In 2002 I wanted an SPG for summer driver. After months of searching, I was fortunate to find a '90 red SPG about one hour away (southern Maine) which had been shipped from California in 2001 and not driven in winter. No rust at all (under-fasteners still look gold-anodized), fine engine and transmission. Non-working A/C, but at least no one had removed the components to save 30-40 pounds! I probably paid about twice what the Edmunds/Blue Book price, but have never regretted it. I've done a lot of TLC to the car, but nothing was expensive yet. Makes me smile! The A/C was fixed (still R-12) a couple years ago for under $200, and still works nicely.
I have a checklist I use when I consider buying one of these C900s (MS Excel) and would forward to you if you provide an e-mail address (I'm not smart enuf to attach it to Saabnet.com e-mail).
My answer: Yes, it could be done, but odds are not favorable. Good luck!
I do think it will be very hard to find one which meets all of your criteria, but I imagine it can be done. The A/C on these things is a very weak link - even weaker than the trannies (although not as important!).
