Fuel- 89 octane is better for longevity of valves and seals.
Oil- don't start that debate going again. What you put in and how often you change it are equally important. Good filters are akin to insurance. If you have any sort of mechanical skills, change your own oil, on schedule. LOF anywhere else is throwing your money away IMHO.
Also, 1994-98 900s qualify as the "NG 900" on this BB. You're bound to get better results there.
