I bought a clean '90 conv in Jn 01. I thought I had figured out cars, as I have in 25 years driving done almost all my own work. I had a list as you did, and the car had had a rebuilt trans, new top and lots of good Saab maintenance. It has been a good ride, but the Saab gotchas were what I did not expect. So in the 4 years, I replaced (I'm excluding maintenance items):
A/C
Exhaust heat shield
Cat-back exhaust
CV Axles (both)
Fuel Pump
ECU
AMM
eBrake cable
Alternator and bushings
Various bushings and wear/tear items
all the vacuum hoses
Near future: Rust on box frame in left front, cruise, heated seats, engine pulleys. Haven't touched the clutch, chain.
If the PO had good records, these have probably been touched, repaired, or replaced. This board and the Bentley got me through all these.
Hope this helps. It's getting old, and parts wear out. But FUN to drive.
