More eBay fairy stories? Reverse syncromesh?

As far as I know there is no reverse syncromesh, but a reverse idler gear, which tends to chip on the edges. This car went for $1825, which is over Edmund's recommended price for a Saab with low miles in "clean" condition. It sounds to me, from the dealers own description, that the reverse gear is shot, with the resultant chips having ended up in the pinion bearing, immenent complete transmission failure should happen soon.
Read the following dealer BS excerpt:
"Certainly every car will have some kind of servicing needs, since every car does need something, regardless of what anyone tells you. A/c is most likely going to need a charge. As is common on all Saab manual transmissions, you have to put the car in reverse in order to remove the key. This leads to excessive wear to the reverse synchromesh, and this one is not immune, as you will hear some funny noises when in reverse (like the synchromesh is spinning). No guarantees with this, as it could fail in a day, a week, a month, or a year, so the synchromesh may need to be changed on reverse, which is very, very common. We also recommend front wheel bearings, since they are noisy, especially at higher speeds. Sunroof does not open at this time. A front fog light is missing. The stereo needs the radio code."
