If the ABS pump weren't running, you wouldn't be getting brake boost. That would be very obvious. The fact that the ABS bulb is missing explains why you don't get the ABS light with the Brake Fluid light.
If the accumulator is shot, you'll still get brake boost. You'll just run out of it if you do a bunch of hard brakings in a short time. The ABS pump will run more often, which can lead to it dying sooner.
Cleaning up the contacts on the pump won't hurt, but I don't think that will solve the problem. I think it's the accumulator.
