Less slippery trans fluid.
The reason the trans slips when cold is low hydraulic pressure for several reasons, hydraulic pump wear or slipping seals that tighten the band/clutches.
It wouldn't hurt to completely flush your trans and use Ford Type F or amsoil super shift atf (the amsoil universal atf works, I used it for years until the super racing fluid amsoil ATF came out).
