There is a nylon block on both sides that makes the sunroof pop up in the back. I had one of those blocks come off and jam so the sunroof would only open half way. I woould imagin that you have had a similar item happen. You can remove the sunroof panel by taking out the screws in the front and lifitng the panel out. This will let you look back and see what the problem is. I would get a manual since they go through this in more detail.
