'84 900T shock options?

Okay, well I just hit around 160K...just got my headgasket replaced, and I starting to notice a little more bouncing action in the rear as well as some harder hits on bumpy roads and such. So, for those of us with 8V's that are still alive, what is the recommended path for my baby? I have Group 6 Intrax springs that I put on a few years ago. These are still the original shocks! I'm amazed about that. So that brings me to my questions. Should I go for aftermarket shocks? Are there ones for my year that are made for lowered cars? Or should I try to get another set of originals? New shocks don't seem to last very long. But these originals went for 21 years! Is that just a fluke? Where could I find some OEM shocks nowadays? And finally, if I went that route, would I be missing out severely on the performance aspect of things as opposed to going with the aftermarkets? Thanks for any help or advice comin my way!
