...besides the obvious DUH...
My name is Jordan and I have a problem. I'm a Saab freak. I'm thinking about buying a convertible 900 turbo. However, this thing will be my dail driver for the summer months. Not just a weekend toy. I will do performance mods to it for sure.
I want to know about wind noise, and body rigidity.
What is the wind noise like with the top up and down? I don't want a car where I have to scream to talk to other passengers. I drove a Dodge spirit convertible and was very impressed with how quite it was. With the windows up and the top down there was no wind rushing around me at all. I don't want to feel like I've got my head stuck out of the window when I drive this car.
What is the handling like compared to a coupe? I'd assume because there is no roof that the body would flex more around corners. I still want a car that feels like it's on rails, as I'll be doing suspension mods too.
I think I'd prefer a manual top opposed to a hydraulic one. You've gotta stop and pull over to raise or lower the top anyway, so I might as well get out and do it myself...and less to break down.
I'm not a HUGE fan of convertibles so I won't make a lot of comprimises (sp?) to have one. I'd LIKE to have one, just because I want to have "the best of both worlds" when it comes to owning a piece of Saab history.
Thanks for any input.
