and drive it into the ground--it'll take you decades. I used to own a business that required I have a small Pickup. I bought a new 1990 Toyota extra cab, 4X4 with the 4 cylinder and a five speed. I sold it at 146,000 and to this day wish I still had it--they go 300,000 if you can keep the rust at bay. The big expense in owning cars isn't repairs--what's a clutch cost--three months of payments? It's the constant churning--buying, selling, trading that eats up the big bucks. I've been in the car business off and on for 35 years and see it all of the time. The number one reason most poeple buy cars isn't because they need one it's because they're bored and think a new car will put some excitement in their lives. It does, for about three months. Keep the Toyota, when it's paid off take the money you used to spend on a car payment and get a pilots license (which is what I did), buy a boat, a motor home, more old Saabs or an old Porsche.
