...they're a pain in the neck to remove from the bases, and you'll likely find the wires holding them down to the contours of the seat the most difficult part.
You first remove seats from car, then remove backs from bottoms (unplug wire to seat heater, bolts or screws at each side), then pry off clips on leatherette skirting front and rear, and work one end of the stiff wire holding the side skirts forward or back enough to get the far end out and then pull the other end out of the base, each side.
Then using some sort of stiff hook you unhook six or seven S-hooks from the seat frame wires beneath the foam cushion, that lead up to the horseshoe-shaped and straight wires that hold the cover down into the seat contours.
Do the other side, then swap covers and reattach in reverse of above steps.
Reattaching those wires is important as they give the seat its nice looks.
If the backs are un-split I wouldn't mess with changing them, you have to peel them up a bit at a time and unhook sets of S-hooks from the back. I don't believe you can release the headrests until you get all the way to the top, peeling cover off as you go.
If you can find a good passenger seat in a junkyard car you might ask at an auto upholstery shop, how much to peel it off and attach it to your driver seat, if you provide them with both seats, out of the car.
