Hi,
It's a long story but I had over heating probelms after soemone hit my car when it was parked. They hit the Passenger side (UK) and damaged only the lgihts. I'm thinking the overheating is not due to this as there was not rad damege etc...
I only had the car 3 weeks and didn't dirve it that much so it may have had a problem before I got it but few times I took it out I was in stop start traffic and had no heating problems.
Anyway...the car was written off by my insuance and I bought it bac. I have this weel fixed the lights, bent out the slight bend in the side paannel and replaced the head gasket, timing chaing, thermostat, lower temo fan switch rad etc.. etc.. gave it a good rinse throguh and again with coolant system clear.
When I started the car and left it to idle it was fine I left it for 30 mins or so and didng go abouve half way. I then took it for a test drive and then the temp guage goes up to almost all the way to the top of the green. I have bled the system of air throug the thermostst nossel and filled the system with the heater full on hot.
I think the water pump is good so I haven't replaced it. I've even taken the thermostat out and ran it and get the same result. Only thing to lower the temp is putting the heater on.
Driving along doesn't make the temp dorp so I think there must be a blockage but I can't find it.
Any advice is greatly apreciated.
