Crank Seal Problems, help

I just finished replacing the crank pulley, crank seal, oilpump housing gasket (O-Ring). Now that I start the car, the oil pressure goes up like normal, there is no gushing leak, but there is a fast tapping/racket noise coming from down near the crank. It's about the same pitch as the valve tapping that I've had for quite some time. Could it be the crank position sensor? The bracket that was screwed on the back of the pulleys didn't seem to be machined to very high tolerances, could that be hitting the crank sensor?
Thanks,
Kevin A
