You don't need a cutoff wheel to remove the shock. Drive home with shock in the car. When you're ready to do the job, jack up the front corner remove the wheel and unbolt the bottom of the shock.
Then, grab the bottom of the shock and pull if back and forth to bend the shaft against the the body hole. About 4-5 pulls and pushes are all that is needed to snap the shaft. Much easier than a cutoff tool or sawzall. YOu can have the shjock out by the time the tools are plugged in.
