So I am driving home today, planning on ordering a rebuilt AMM for the good car soon as I get home, when I recall there used to be an old style pick-your-own wrecking yard down a dirt road nearby, where I might be able to find a cheap used AMM for the beater. Go there, and find them for both cars. Yippee! Bargain the guy down for $30 for both, then ask him about guarantee -none. Oh well I figure, odds are at least one will be good.
Get home and plug them in and both are dead. Pissed. Call to order the rebuild, and as an afterthought ask the guy if they need any more cores. "Yup," he says "I can give you $15 apiece".
