Sounds like it might be the hall effect sensor or the ignition module might have given up. Ignitions modules can fail suddenly.
The ECU won't let the fuel pump run for more than a few seconds on starting unless it receives a pulse signal from the ingnition module indicating the RPMs that the engine is turning at.
First, check for spark while cranking. If no spark, then one of the two items above is probably it. Also, check to see if the black connector on the side of the distributor has gotten loose and has partially fallen off.
