A couple of differences between the 2 ECUs:
- The '89 LH 2.4 has a 2-terminal AIC valve which has a spring return. The '91 LH 2.4.2 has a 3-terminal valve which gets powered to move in each direction.
- The '89 TPS has 2 micro-switches to sense throttle fully-closed and 95% open positions. The '91 LH 2.4.2 has a slidwire TPs which gives a continuous position indication to the ECU.
There are ways to modify the wiring harness to accommodate the differences. You may have to run an additional wire and you'll have to use a 3-terminal connector to accommodate the 3-pin AIC valve.
There are probably some other differeneces between the two, but I don't have those off the top of my head.
For the rest of the differences, you should be able to find the pinouts in the electical diagrams in Bentley. It's relatively easy to pop the terminals out of the large connector that goes onto the ECU so they can be repositioned if you chose to go in that direction. Just be careful.
