I had a similar thing happen to my '89 a few months after I rebuilt the master. It turned out that one of the seals in the slave cylinder died. The fresh brake fluid eventually washed away all of the crud that had plugged the wear in the slave seals.
I hate to suggest it, but look under the hole beneath the flywheel for brake fluid drippage.
Your situation may not be exactly the same. So, if you don't see fluid dripping from under the flywheel, check to make sure that the bleeder nipple is tight and not spewing brake fluid when you step on the clutch pedal. (I know that one firsthand, too.) You may have to rebleed.
