Ignition electronics working again.

I actually don't know for sure what I did to get it running again. I'd gone over every wire and circuit testing wattage, continuity and resistance and found nothing to indicate a problem. I even swapped out the distributor hall sensor with another one but still nothing. Then I removed the throttle body to examine the wiring to the starter and to better access the harness wiring and plug. Again nothing out of the ordinary. So I reassembled everything and with the replacement hall sensor still in the distributor, I turned the key and it fired up. I couldn't believe my ears. The only thing I can think of is that with the replacement hall sensor, the plug on it was shattered, leaving just the three bare metal prongs. To make sure those prongs stayed tight inside the harness plug for the testing, I pulled the internal plug contacts out with a small pick for additional friction. So with the engine now running, I decided to replace the original hall sensor to confirm it was working as well and that the problem all along was the internal plug contact points. Or just one of them. The engine started again without a problem. So it's only a guess that the problem was one of the plug contacts. What a long way to go for just that! And there's no way to really test wiring continuity inside the distributor once the plug is connected.
