The only real way is to have a dealer look the VIN up to see what the trim level is.
The '85 is a funny beast in that the big thing differentiating it from a 900T is the side skirts. So, looking at APC numbers and springs won't even be able to give you a clue. Stock APC and suspension were the same as the 900T. Not that a 900T is anything to sneeze at.
It should have a tan leather interior, though.
I did read a post a few years ago to the effect that the fellow making the post called SAAB to verify an '85 SPG. SAAB corporate said that they weren't keeping records of the individual cars as far back as '85. Trying SAAB now to find whether this one is a real SPG might yield different results, so it's worth a try.
