Limp home mode problem fix-yes!!!

Just wanted to pass on this bit of wisdom to anyone who happens to run into a chronic limp home mode problem that can't be tracked down and eliminated. After visiting two independent SAAB shops and one dealership trying to diagnose this problem, not to mention swapping in a used engine system ECU and installing a new oxygen sensor, we replaced the $40.00 knock sensor and cleaned up the dirty connection. Haven't had one problem since. The one independent shop billed us $393.00 trying to unsuccessfully find this problem, and the dealership another $150.00 with the same results. Their diagnostic computer said it was either the oxygen sensor or the engine ECU. WRONG!!! Save yourself a lot of grief and money and replace the knock sensor first, then go from there.
