Take a look at the rubber boots that connect the turbo discharge ducts to the intercooler and throttle body. Bets are that either there's a loose hose clamp or one of the boots has a small rip in it that opens up when the pressure goes above atmospheric.
What happens is that the metered air escapes from the intuction system when it's under pressure, but the ECU still feeds fuel based on what was measured by the AMM, so it goes very rich.
