I'm sure your getting the car nice and hot before you take it in. That's a no brainer.

Sorry to hear about your luck, if it makes you feel any better, I have an 85 900 t 16v with a little bit more mile 289k and I'm in the middle of a valve job. I took the head off a couple weeks ago only to fine 6 yup count'em 6 cracks in my head. 1 between each intake valve and 1 on cylinder 1 and 4 where the plug screws in. Luckily I have a couple parts car eng. on the floor. So I robbed the 87 head and took it to the shop. Cost me $410 for a valve job (triple cut) and resurface. I also had them put in a diff intake cam which it needed bad. The lobes on 3 of the cylinders had worn down. About an 1/8 inch. Before this I was running like a crazy person. When it wasn't raining. I don't drive her in the rain or snow(if we ever get any) I'm sure your thinking Man he must have been running really hot to put that many cracks. huh? Well I wasn't!! 8 yrs ago I was chasing some girls down the hwy and blow the rad reservoir in 2. That's a lot of pressure! Well my guess is they didn't see the cracks (hair line at that time)and just threw the whole thing back together! Until now. This has really cost me. I guess you could say I got what I paid for all these years of hot rodding around.
