Just when I thought I had progressed to working on the comfort items such as speakers and air- conditioning, a new mechanical problem arises.
I'm hearing a wo-dho, wo-dho sound that corespondes with the speed the car is moving. Its from the front axel. When I'm driving I think its coming slightly from the passenger side. But my passenger tells me she thinks the sound is coming from the driver side. Clutch in or out, gear doesn't make any difference.
.
The outside CV boots look older, but are not broken. The sound does not coresponde to hard turns, or sound like a clicking.
.
This sound has been coming on at about the same time as a maintance mistake I made. I was noticing some oil leak on the ground. I thought the manual gearbox was low on oil, and I overfilled it. For about two weeks I drove with the manual transmission overfilled.
Other maintance in the areas was that I cleaned the area of the transmission, and axel drivers serveral times with water spray and grease remover in trying to find where the oil leak was from.
My suspect is the inner drivers, but I've got no experiece with this. I'm going to get a good flashlight and look at them.
I don't think that it is the alighment because the car tracks well, it was recently aligned, and I didn't have any curb type accident.
Any thoughts of what the problem could be, or what I should look for on the inner drivers?
