is not a spring clip but a small "hooked" clip. The stock hooked clip would have to be installed with the cover off because it is a)too wide to fit through the slot in the bumper and b)it appears it could fall out of the square hole of the strip even if it could be pushed through the bumper from the outside. However I did a search on Ebay for "saab strip" and purchased a new set of stock strips with what appears to be a riveted, narrower clip at the end that goes through the slot near the license plate which would hold the clip firnly to the strip an allow its small "hook" to catch the bumper. The large spring clips at the other end of the strips are supplied but not attached to the strip. All the other strips listed on their web site for different locations on the cars have detached clips at each end. Could this be a new design for the front of 87-94 900's? I will confirm when I get them.
