Hella discontinued the manufacture of those lamps in late 2003, and there
is no remaining stock in Hella's warehouses worldwide. When last I checked
Saab's worldwide stock in early 2004, there were a few left in Sweden. I
doubt this is still the case, but I will be happy to check for you. If
they can still be obtained from Saab, they will have to be specially
ordered ex-Europe, for Saab dealers in the US are prohibited from
obtaining them.

They look nice and work well when new. But, Hella really dropped the ball on these. The lenses are made of thin, crack-prone glass, and the reflectors corrode if you breathe on 'em hard. Up here in Canada, '85-'86 900s were factory equipped with European headlamps. Virtually every one you see on the road has seriously degraded headlamps (no shiny stuff left on the reflectors, lenses broken and cracked in multiple places...)

The '87-'93 European headlamp is much, much better in both performance and durability. Of course that doesn't help '79-'86 900 owners, but at least you can just use thoughtfully-selected 200mm x 142mm H4 conversion lamps directly in place of the sealed beams in the US bracket setup.
