Finally Finished Clutch R&R Posted by nateh89spg [Email] (#563) [Profile/Gallery] (more from nateh89spg) on Sat, 14 May 2005 08:56:18 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hi All,
First of all, thanks everyone who directly and indirectly guided me through my first clutch R&R and RMS R&R (borrowed the special tool from my indie) on my 88 spg. I would have finished earlier, but life happened a few times throughout this month long process, what can you do. Love this site.
Got the 5 piece Saab clutch kit from eEuroparts, RMS, new pilot bearing and input shaft seal. Found a great little local machine shop who resurfaced my flywheel for $20. Only thing I didn't do was the master cylinder, which Murphy will probably take care of in a couple of days.
All in all, its a pretty straight forward job. Like every other project, once you start thinking clearly, most problems have a relatively simple solution.
Been driving my 9000 CD slushbox for a month now, and, man, do I miss these cars. Just need to put the plastic cover on and re-re-assemble (left it off for a quick test drive off the street just in case I messed something up).
One or two more "projects" and I'll be a happy camper.
Nate
