Yes, you could take it out through the trunk and do it any time. But with the incentive of the need to fix the window, why not do it now?
You can easily get 4-doors out through the trunk. I've been telling people to take out the package shelf first cause that's what I did, but a recent poster on here says you only have to tip both front seats way forward, drop the liner, push it up forward onto the dash on the backs of the front seat headrests, then, with rear seat fully down out of the way, drop the rear down and guide it out of the trunk.
I think the Bentley advice is based on how Saab installed them when building them.
