Air's average molecular weight is 28.9 vs. 28.0 for N2. Seems like #1 goes in the wrong direction.
Someone's gotta explain #2 to me. After all the heat transfer & thermodynamics courses I've had, I don't get that one.
I hadn't thought of #3, but my steel winter rims have never had trouble rusting from the outside anyway. Inside the tire's air-space, corrosion has not been a problem.
#4 is hard to explain when you consider the energy that's used for cryogenic separation of air's component gases. Maybe because you're gonna do it anyway, since there's ALWAYS people who need bottled oxygen. Nitrogen is the leftovers so maybe that makes it cheaper than dry compressed air.
