a poor timing problem. It has a very rough idle and the Dealer diagnosed it as a poor replacement of the timing chain by a previous owner... or a very stretched timing chain. When I took off the valve cover, rotated the Flywheel to TDC. I found their diagnosis was right on the money. The little engraved dash marks on the Cam Shafts next to the timing shafts are not lined up correctly with the "v" marks on the bracket that holds it.

My guess is from how far the marks are off where they should be, is that since it was obvious the valve cover had been removed by the previous 1 owner until my purchase, is that the chain replacement was done incorrectly... the cams are definately not lined up correctly at TDC. If it's never been done, it's time anyways because it has 162,000 miles on it.

I've located the tensioner, how do I check that it's properly adjusting the slack in the chain? Tweetiedancer suggested rotating the flywheel a few more times to check out the relationship and action of tensioner. That should give me an understanding of how much slack there is... correct?
