a leading cause of no-charging is a loose, broken, or corroded ground wire--- it's the black wire from the alt. housing, usually connected to one of the alt bracket mounting screws. If you measure the voltage across the battery terminals with the engine running, you should see 13-14 V, anything less and you have a charging problem. If you do see 13-14V, and the battery still goes flat in a few days, then you have a major current drain somewhere. Search old posts under "battery drain", etc. for detailed advice on what to do.
