...remmeber that the entire assemble can be removed with the 2 large bolts (17 or 19 MM - I think) that hold the caliper to the spindle. Use a blowtorch to heat things up, then try hammering again.
You can always buy a rebuilt and install if all else fails, or buy the replacement units as phil describes. I would call sobstory for the parts used, as he is a good guy and shipps next day/same day.
When I had my 86 SPG, I had always been successful prying the retaining clips with a pry bar and even the lug nut wrench suppplied by saab. I placed it between the "U" of the retaining bolt and the caliper itself. This gives huge leverage. The thing just pulls/ligfts right out. I would however think you might have already tried this.
By the way, what ever happened with the "mushy" feeling in the master cylinder? Did you need to replace, or was the brake fluid swap enough?
