Hello All
I have owned my 85 900s for a couple of years now but I have not been driving it for over a year because of exhaust problems. I just fixed everything and I am back to driving it. I now remember the biggest issue I have had with the car since I have had it. The heat is always blowing. The fan works and the heat doesnt blow hard unless I turn the fan on but there is always some light amounts of heat blowing in. I know that this seams like a heater control valve failure, but I have a twist to it. I know where the valve is, I have read countless post about it. My problem is that when I bought the car the rod that goes from the knob on the dash to the heater control valve was gone. I couldnt find it anywhere in the dash. I was able to get another one and put it on. I can turn it but I am not sure that it is opening or closing the heater control valve. My question is if the heater control valve opens and then closes and then opens again if you turn it a couple of turns by hand or if it is like screwing it down closed and then unscrewing it to open it? I am not sure if I need to adjust the valve and then reconnect the rod to it or if I truly have a heater control valve failure. Any help is greatly appreciated.
