I ran 195/65-15s on my '90 for a couple of years, & the only time they rubbed was when I loaded the rear with lots of weight (& only then on the side that the PO pushed forward in an accident). The fronts never rubbed. On my son's '85, the 195/60-15s on there now will rub the drain hose on locked right turns. The only negative you might have is slightly slower acceleration (& your speedometer will read a bit slower than actual speed), but you'll also get slightly better hwy mileage, treadwear & a smoother ride.
Ken's right, the stock tires were 185/65-15s. I'm currently running BFG Traction T/As in this size & love the improved handling & fantastic winter & summer grip.
