re pinion height. in almost all cases the shim stack under the pinion stays teh same. albeit withe new. the measurement you refer to is the stacak height. which needs reshimming as there is no guarantee you have the nut in exactly teh same place. the pinion height is set ( if you do not have the tool) by setting the case vertical, usin the layshaft as a straight edge and let it settle in the carrier bores, the use and inside gauge to get the position. you can calc it but i forgot the measurement and then you add/subract according to the stamp on pinion. chap 4 of bentley is orderable to give you the rest of what haynes missed. but haynes is pretty good for trans. if the under pinion shims were replaced as is or with stock probably ok. another good thing is to add 5mm to the pinion housing bolt length and use machined washers to spread the load. it will require grinding the bolt head down. final note. be absolutely sure that the reverse lock bolt has good threads, clean it very very well and locktite it in. it is pretty wimpy setup. i heli-coiled mine.
