Either option is not hard.

If you're going to replace it you will need to get some stainless steel staples to install it. You can replace the back window section without replacing the whole top but you will have to undo some of the staples holding the top on to do the job. I believe I saw instructions on the web somewhere (maybe Townsend ?).

Check with an installer before purchasing the part if you are going that route. Some installers insist on using their parts. I was given a price of $300 plus parts to do the job.

You can reglue the canvas to the window with rubber weatherstrip adheesive that you buy at any good auto parts store. Unclip the front latches on the top to remove the tension and you should be able to get the canvas back to it's original position. You'll have to clean the glass and the canvas area you're going to glue REALLY WELL with alcohol first. Apply the glue to the glass and then put the canvas in place. Then, peel the peices apart and place some popsicle sticks in between them sideways to keep them apart (glued surfaces not touching). Wait about 5 minutes and then pull the sticks, and put the peices back together. You will need someone on the inside of the car applying pressure to the window to do this. The glue should bond the canvas to the window without a problem. As an added precaution run a THIN bead of silicone caulk along the top edge of the canvass to keep the water out for sure. Don't go nuts with the caulk, you want the smallest bead possible or you'll make a royal mess. If you have a black top use black silicone. If you have a tan top use clear. Let everything set overnight before you relatch the top. I've done this technique to three tops so far (one about 8 years ago) and no failures so far. I was told by a top installer that it couldn't be fixed--nonsense!
