I just recently purchased a 1991 900 turbo convertible and it had the same issue as your #3. I actually found a fix on line. Evidently a common problem. The ground wire in the driver rear brake light assembly corrodes and no longer grounds the brake lights. As a result the only brake light that works is the third brake light. I took out the driver rear assembly and located the ground wire...was easy to spot because was most corroded out of all of them (big red wire if I remember correctly) I used a brillo pad type material to clean the contact and the brake lights have worked ever since. If you google saab rear brake light failure, I think it brings up the link for a step by step. Good Luck. I have owned my saab since last september, and I LOVE it!!!! Great Car. Enjoy yours!!!
