Most people don't have a clue what's wrong with their car and often jump to replace something electrical instead of even beginning to analyze their problems.
This means, if electrical parts WERE returnable, parts men would be kept jumping busy and the shelves would be full of slightly messed up, package-damaged and questionable returned electrical parts that no one else would want to buy, and almost no one would ever actually pay for anything.
So I know it seems unfair but practically speaking, it's the only way for parts suppliers to operate and still stay in business.
What you need to do is accept replacement AMMs until you get one that works perfectly.
